The Manchester United winless run continued as they settled for a 1-1 draw against Leeds United at Elland Road.
Mbeumo had the first chance of the game, but his header failed to hit the target. United took the lead in the 35th minute through Bryan Mbeumo, who finished from close range following a well-worked attacking move involving Amad Diallo. Leeds responded strongly after the break and drew level in the 51st minute through Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who capitalised on a flick-on from Tarik Muharemovic following Anton Stach’s corner.
The hosts continued to threaten, but Ao Tanaka and Noah Okafor failed to convert promising opportunities. At the other end, Bruno Fernandes fired wide, while substitute Mason Mount also missed the target. United are now on a six-game winless run after the draw, and they find themselves in 13th place with just 7 points.
Leeds United manager Daniel Farke said his side should have won the game. “Second half, we got the equaliser; we should have kept up the dominance. Too many strikes went over the crossbar, but it was overall a solid performance. We should have won the game, but we moved on. We were the dominant side, but we couldn’t capitalise, as we lacked quality in and around the box.” He said.
