Gor-draw

The Mashemeji derby ended in a 0-0 draw at the Nyayo Stadium on Sunday evening.

Sharriff Musa had a glorious chance for Gor Mahia, but his shot forced a glorious save from Levis Opiyo. Boniface Munyendo had an opportunity for Leopards after a lovely cutback but lashed his effort over the bar. Temperatures kept on rising with the cheering crowd, and the referee worked hard to maintain composure on the field.

In the second half, Musa had a glorious chance for Gor after finding himself unmarked at the far post but could not finish it. Ronald Bebeto saw his header just miss the target for the Leopards. The game ended goalless amid a huge turnout for the Mashemeji derby in the Nyayo Stadium.

Leopards coach Fred Ambani expressed his disappointments after the draw. “I am disappointed. This is a game we wanted to get three points from, but we managed only one, and that’s that. But still, my record stands—I have never lost to Gor Mahia.” “We will continue to work on our finishing. It has become a major issue for us, and we must improve. We create chances, but we don’t convert them, and that’s our biggest problem.” He said.
