Mason Mount joins Manchester United from Chelsea.
after the two clubs agreed a fee yesterday worth £55 million plus five additional million on add-ons.
Mount and United had already reached a personal agreement, and Chelsea have now given the 24-year-old player permission to undergo medical exams at United. He is expected to agree to a five-year contract with a one-year option.
Prior to this, Chelsea had turned down all three of United’s offers for Mount. United had previously stated they were not willing to go above that price after the Blues reacted with a proposal for a transaction for £65 million in response to their last offer, which totaled £55 million.
Chelsea and Manchester United officials met yesterday face-to-face in the USA to get the deal done. Chelsea continue a massive clearout with Kai Havertz, Matoe Kovacic, Edouard Mendy, Ngolo Kante, Koulibaly, Hakim Ziyech, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek having all left the club.
