Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted that it will take time for Kai Havertz to adapt to the team.

Kai Havertz completed a switch from London rival Chelsea for a fee worth £65 million this summer. He was able to make his Arsenal debut in the 1-1 draw against Nürnberg yesterday.

The German looked sloppy in possession as he made his debut, which was welcomed by fans clapping and loud noises.

Speaking after the game, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta insisted that it will take time for Havertz to perform at a high level. “We have to see how he adapts and obviously get to know each other and build relationships,” Arteta said after the game. “Football is about that, and time will tell where he fits in best,” he said.

Havertz himself said it was exciting to join such a young group. “It’s a young group, and when I watched them last year from the outside, it was fun to watch them, and I felt the energy behind the club. It’s great to be here, and hopefully we’re going to have a good time and achieve a lot of things.” He said.
