Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk’s doping ban has been lifted, and he will now resume playing immediately.

Mudryk had been sidelined from football since the suspension. Since joining Chelsea, he has made 58 appearances, scoring 7 goals and providing 4 assists. It marks a fresh start for the Ukrainian forward after a long spell away from the game. The decision reportedly followed discussions between the FA and the Ukrainian federation, which had been ongoing for some time.

Mudryk released a statement after the news was confirmed: “After a long battle, the four-year ban that was imposed on me has been rescinded, and I am free to resume my career with immediate effect. I am grateful that this process has reached a conclusion, that I have been cleared to return to football, and that I can now look ahead to my future,” he wrote.

Xabi Alonso is set to welcome him as his new manager in Hong Kong, where Chelsea are holding their pre-season.
