On Sunday, Novak Djokovic won the US Open for the fourth time.

The Serbian international also earned a record-tying 24th Grand Slam trophy after defeating Daniil Medvedev in straight sets. With his fourth triumph in New York, Djokovic defeated Medvedev 6-3 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 to become the oldest US Open champion during the Open Era.

Djokovic, who earlier this year broke Rafael Nadal’s record of 22 major victories for men, became the first man to accomplish this feat on four separate occasions in 2023 by winning three of the four Grand Slam titles.

Speaking after the win, Djokovic said he was happy with the title. “It obviously means the world to me,” said Djokovic after winning his 24th major. “I’m really living my childhood dream to compete at the highest level in this sport, which has given me and my family so much in difficult circumstances.” He said.
