Manchester City defeated Aston Villa 4-1 in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium.

Fresh from a draw against Arsenal, City looked to bounce back again. Rodri opened the scoring early in the game after being set up by Doku.Aston Villa levelled the scoring through Jhon Duram, who replaced injured striker Watkins. Foden scored the second goal through a free kick in the stroke of halftime.

In the second half, Foden added his second goal of the game after a lovely set-up by Rodri, whereby he calmly slotted past the Aston Villa goalkeeper. He then completed his hattrick after a wonderful strike from outside the box, making it his third hattrick in the Premier League.

Speaking after the game, Phil Foden said he was happy to help the team. “I’m loving my football; playing with a smile on my face.” I’m just trying to help the team because I know I’m capable of scoring goals. Today I showed that. I set myself up better than last season. Trying to get more goal contributions. I’m up this year. Doing well.” He said.
