Gor Mahia have completed the signing of centre-back Portipher Odhiambo from Kakamega Homeboyz, adding another experienced defender to their squad ahead of the new FKF Premier League season.
Odhiambo has built a reputation as a dependable central defender in Kenyan football. He previously played for Vihiga Bullets, where his performances earned him the 2020/21 National Super League Most Valuable Player award before moving to Kakamega Homeboyz.
During his time at Homeboyz, the defender developed into an important member of the back-line. In the 2025/26 campaign, he made 31 appearances and scored five goals, while recording 91 clearances, 51 interceptions and 44 blocks, according to K24’s season statistics.
His consistency also saw him feature prominently for Homeboyz during the season, reaching 27 appearances in all competitions by April and contributing four goals and three assists at that stage.
Odhiambo also has experience with Kenya’s Emerging Stars, having been included in the squad for the 2021 CECAFA Senior Championship.
