Faith Kipyegon broke the world record in the 5000 meters last night in Paris.
She has since received massive congratulations from all over the country, led by President William Ruto.
President William Ruto took to his official Twitter account to congratulate her: “Tenacity, focus, hunger for excellence, and a winning mindset are the formula for greatness. Faith Kipyegon has done it again. Another world record, this time in the 5,000 meters. What an athlete! What an inspiration! What a champion! Congratulations! Kenya is immensely proud of you.” He tweeted.
Former prime minister Raila Odinga also sent her message of congratulations. “Wow! Just one week after shattering the 1500-meter world record. Faith Kipyegon breaks the 5000-meter world record in an astonishing time of 14:05.20, making history once again! What an epic run! Congratulations” He tweeted.
Musalia Mudavadi also gave Kipyegon praise after the win “Congratulations, Faith Kipyegon, for your outstanding performance once again. Breaking two World Records in one week is incredible. WORLD RECORD, WORLD RECORD HOLDER 5,000M. KENYA CELEBRATES YOU! Continue putting your best 5,000M forward.” He tweeted.
