Safaricom’s Chapa Dimba fourth edition is set to kick off from 24-25 June 2023, confirms the tournament’s director Chris Amimo.

The tournament will start off in Western County with the preliminaries where 426 teams have confirmed their participation via registration.

Kakamega has the highest number of registered teams- 162, Bungoma follows with 138, while Busia and Vihiga have 64 and 63 respectively.

“In Western Region, we closed the registration with 426 teams having registered. In season 3 we only had 180 teams and the increase in registrations is also witnessed in the other regions. The grassroots teams appreciate and love the Safaricom Chapa Dimba tournament and its impact on the communities is very positive.” He said.

The previous editions were held in 2018- first, 2019- second, and 2020- third. The third edition was halted after the spread of Covid-19 became rampant.
