Tensions are running high in the Real Madrid dressing room ahead of El Clasico.
It has been a tough season for Real Madrid, where they have been knocked out of every trophy this season. They sacked Xabi Alonso midway through the season, but things have gotten worse. According to Spanish news outlet Marca, the dressing room is heavily divided ahead of a potential title decider in the upcoming El Clasico. On Wednesday, it was reported that Tchouaméni and Fede Valverde were involved in a fight in training after a harsh tackle by the French midfielder Tchouaméni. They failed to resolve their issue, and yesterday it was reported the fight continued to the extent of Valverde being rushed to the hospital.
Real Madrid president Florent Pérez is reportedly preparing disciplinary issues among the two players, and it is unclear if they will play in El Clásico. Another incident occurred whereby Rudiger slapped Carellas, and the teammates had to intervene to save the situation. Mbappé is also said to have been involved in a strong exchange with one of the technical staff.
The club took to their social media pages to announce disciplinary measures. “Real Madrid announce that, following the events that took place this morning, the club has decided to open disciplinary proceedings against our players Fede Valverde & Aurélien Tchouaméni,” read the statement.
