Former Arsenal player and French International Thierry Henry has been appointed as the new head coach of France’s Under-21 team.

Thierry Henry has been serving as a sports pundit after leaving his role as assistant coach of the Belgium national team.

Henry served as Roberto Martinez assistant coach before Martinez was sacked after failing to deliver in World cup games that were held in Qatar.

The 46-year-old has previously been Monaco and Montreal Impact head coach and now he will replace Sylvain Ripoli who was sacked after the France Under-21 team lost to Ukraine in the quarterfinals of Euros this summer.

He has signed a contract that will see him lead the team until 2025, and former Angers manager Gerard Baticle will serve as his assistant coach.
