Former blues striker Timo Werner is on the verge of joining London rivals Tottenham Hotspurs on a six month loan.The London side are keen on the former Chelsea forward, who has struggled to find his form of his first spell with Leipzig.
Now it appears that Spurs are closing on the deal which will see them beat Manchester United to his signature, after Erik ten Hag’s side were linked with the player.
Manchester United has been linked with the Germany international as they looked for a striker to support Rasmus Hojlund, but it now appears that they will have to look elsewhere as Werner closes in on a return to London.
The 27-year-old striker is best known in England for his time with Chelsea, where he won the UEFA Champions League but largely struggled to convince before returning to RB Leipzig in 2022.
