Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano has now shifted his focus to downing Gor Mahia when the two teams meet in a crunch FKF Premier League match on Sunday afternoon at the Nyayo National Stadium.

This is a match that will play a big part in the title race, with just four matches left before the season concludes. The two teams are separated by just one point, with the Brewers leading the pack. Whichever way the game goes, it could have an impact on the title race.

The Brewers are in contention for the Mozzart Bet Cup as well and could end a season with a double, like was the case in 2016.They will play Kakamega Homeboyz in the cup final on July 1 at a venue that is yet to be disclosed.

The focus now for both teams is on performing well in the remaining matches. They will both be wary of Nzoia Sugar, who are just four points off the top spot and are firmly in the title talks as well.

Ahead of Sunday’s showdown, Matano says he understands the difficult task that awaits his team but adds that the goal is to down the record league champions and open a bigger gap heading into the final three duels.

“We shift our focus to the league, and we know our next opponent is a very tough side since they are also in the title race. We will try our best to get maximum points on match day,” the seasoned tactician said.
