The two-time Olympic Marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge has vowed to break the Boston Marathon course record- the major race event is scheduled on April 17, 2023.

Kenyan Geoffrey Mutai holds the event course record (2:03:01) that was made back in 2011.

“I just don’t want to participate in the sixth Abbott World Marathon Major. I want to win it with a course record. It will be another milestone since I already have course records from the Tokyo, London, and Berlin marathons.” He told the NN Running team.

In preparation for the event, the Kaptagat-based athlete believes he will be in the right body shape to surmount the hardships that come with the rough course.

“I think I am in the right direction heading towards April. It is the right time now to train on the ‘Boston route’ here in Kenya. It is an uphill and tough course of about 40km. Training at high altitude is good since it can help one breathe well and run fast.” He added
