Kenya has failed to roar in the 1500 meters event for a decade in the Olympics, and three years counting in the World Championships. However, Brian Komen- the reigning 1500-meter All-African Games Gold medalist has claimed enough is enough!

He believes that come the Paris Olympics, Kenya shall reinvigorate their lost glory in the event.

The European athletes have been dominating the event. The Olympic, and World Championships titles are currently held by Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Josh Kerr respectively.

He hopes they can bring down the aforementioned European heavyweights with the perfect training.

“We are going back to training and working hard to reclaim our title. Europeans have been dominating like in the last two-three seasons but if we work hard, perfect, and be disciplined, everything will be okay.” He told Pulse.

Asbel Kiprop was the last Kenyan to clinch the Olympic title in the Beijing Olympics in 2008. Similarly, Timothy Cheruiyot was the last Kenyan to win the World Championships title in Doha in 2019.
