Its a blow to Arsenal’s title challenge quest after they lost 2-0 to Westham United at their home ground, Emirates Stadium. Tomas Soucek scored the first goal after a cut-back pass from Jarod Bowen in the first half. Efforts from Arsenal players to find an equalizer in the first half did not succeed after an impressive performance from Westham United goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, who made saves from Bukayo Saka’s several attempts to equalize.

In the second half, Konstantinos Mavrapanos scored the second goal with a stunning header after a corner kick delivered by James Ward Browse. Benrahma missed a penalty in stoppage time after David Raya saved the spot kick. This is the second consecutive win for Westham United against the Gunners this year, after they eliminated them in the Carabao Cup with a 3-1 victory in November. Arsenal have failed to win any of the London Derby this season; they have managed to take three points after three draws against Chelsea, Fulham, and Tottenham Hotspurs.

Arsenal are currently 2nd in the EPL standings with 40 points, just 2 points behind Liverpool. They will face Fulham in another London Derby on Sunday at the Craven Cottage.
