The World Athletics Championships are getting closer by the minute, and the temperature is increasing faster than the body can tolerate. The Year’s Biggest Athletics Showdown!

One of the most anticipated events is the 100 meters women’s dash. The reason is, we will see the USA Women’s national champion Sha’Carri Richardson clash with the Jamaican Women’s national champion Shericka Jackson.

For much of 2023, the two women have produced incredible times where Richardson’s time of 10.76 which she ran at the Doha Diamond League meeting, has stood for a long time as the World Lead. In that race, she defeated her rival Shericka Jackson.

Guess who broke her world lead? Your guess is as good as mine, it was Shericka Jackson who broke the World Lead during Jamaica’s National Athletics. She threw the World Lead to the bin after running a mesmerizing time of 10.65.

The two faced each other for the last time before the World Championships in Hungary in the Silesia Diamond League meeting. Richardson would still get the better of her rival after running an impressive time of 10.76 seconds. Jackson clocked 10.78.

It is without a doubt that heading into the World Championships, the two athletes are the favorites in clinching the 100 meters title. If the two can keep up and even improve on their lethal form, the 100 meters women’s dash will be the race to look out for.
