The World Athletics Championships is fast approaching, athletes are fine-tuning their craft to be in the best shape possible. The Spectacle is set to kick off on August 19, 2023, in Budapest, Hungary.
Kenya has high hopes for the Women’s 3000-meter steeplechase event. A star-studded trio of the world record holder Beatrice Chepkoech, Commonwealth Games champion Jackline Chepkoech, and World U-20 champion Faith Cherotich will represent Kenya.
The Kenyan trio, however, will not have an easy ride because they will face opposition from Ethiopians, Kazakhstanis, and Bahrainis. After a successful start to the season, Bahrain’s Winfred Mutile Yavi will return with the hopes of making a statement and achieving a podium result.
