France qualified for the round of 16 after a convincing 3-0 win over Sweden on Wednesday morning.

Both sides looked ready for battle, and it was France who dominated the early stages. Kylian Mbappe had the ball in the net early on, but he was deemed to be offside. Michael Olise then hit an incredible overhead kick that hit the crossbar, and Ousmane Dembele missed the target on the rebound. Kylian Mbappe then opened the scoring after a lovely feint from a corner kick. Alexander Isak then had the opportunity from Elanga’s cross, but he could not connect well.

After the halftime break, France added the pressure, and Barcola added the second goal after a lovely through pass by Olise. Sweden seemed to have no answers for France’s momentum at all as they sat back to defend. Upamecano then blocked Gyokeres effort as time was getting away for Potter’s side.Kylian Mbappe then rounded off a comfortable evening for the national team with a lovely curling effort as Olise once again provided the assist.
