Al-Nassr have officially announced the appointment of Australian manager Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach on a two-year contract. He succeeds Jorge Jesus and takes charge of a squad featuring Cristiano Ronaldo, with the Saudi Pro League champions hoping his proven track record of winning trophies can bring continued success.

Postecoglou, 60, has built one of the most accomplished managerial careers in modern football. He began by winning back-to-back National Soccer League titles with South Melbourne before leading Brisbane Roar to A-League success. As Australia national team coach, he guided the Socceroos to the 2015 AFC Asian Cup title, the country’s first continental championship. He later won the J1 League with Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan and followed that with two Scottish Premiership titles, two Scottish League Cups, and a Scottish Cup during his successful spell at Celtic. At Tottenham Hotspur, he ended the club’s 17-year trophy drought by winning the UEFA Europa League in 2025, becoming the first Australian manager to win a major European competition.

Across his managerial career, Postecoglou has overseen more than 700 competitive matches and has maintained an overall win rate of approximately 57%, underlining his reputation as a coach capable of delivering consistent results over a long period. Although his brief spell at Nottingham Forest ended after just eight winless matches, his overall record remains among the strongest of managers currently working at the highest level.

Al-Nassr will now hope Postecoglou can add to his impressive list of achievements and guide the club to further domestic and continental success as he begins a new chapter in Saudi Arabian football.
