Manchester United England midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is set to be sidelined for a few weeks due to injury, as confirmed via a statement by the club.

This comes as a blow to Dutch manager Erik Ten Hag, who is trying to improve his team after enduring the worst start to the Premier League season in many years. United are currently on a winless run, with their last Premier League game being a goalless draw with Aston Villa.

After missing matches for Argentina and Ivory Coast, respectively, Alejandro Garnacho, who had a knee, and Amad Diallo, who was reported sick, it seems the two have recovered as they are back in training. It appears that both players will play when United hosts Brentford at Old Trafford on Saturday. Luke Shaw and Mason Mount are still out, but Tyrell Malacia is getting closer to being fully healthy following a protracted knee injury for the past year.
