Former Chelsea and Arsenal Winger Willian has admitted he regrets leaving Chelsea and joining Arsenal.

The former The Brazilian winger left Chelsea to join Arsenal in the summer of 2020 after his contract with Chelsea expired. He then joined Arsenal and signed a three-year contract under Mikel Arteta. He went on to play 25 Premier League games, scored just one goal, and dished out 5 assists. Things did not go well as he terminated his contract and left the club.

Speaking on what transpired, Willian revealed that he wished he had never left Chelsea. “Yeah, I wish I’d never left [Chelsea]. Of course it’s easy to say now, but when I stop and think about all the situations, I say to myself, “I wish I never left.” But that’s life.”He said.

He continued to say that he never enjoyed his time at Arsenal and wanted to leave immediately. “I wasn’t happy [at Arsenal]; I wasn’t happy. That’s why I didn’t perform. I don’t want to go into the details.When I arrived there, I was happy; from the beginning, I was motivated; I wanted to do well—new club, new mates, new project. But after three months, I said to my agent, “Please, I want to go”.” He concluded.
