Former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama is officially lined up for Southampton Legends XI against Manchester United Legends at St Mary’s Stadium on March 28. The clash celebrates 50 years since the Saints’ iconic 1976 FA Cup win—their sole triumph in the competition.

Wanyama, a fan favorite from his dominant midfield stint on the south coast (2013-2016), makes a poignant comeback. Now 34 and clubless since departing Dunfermline Athletic in July 2025, he’s battling a nagging injury that may end his career.

“Maybe soon I’ll stop playing because of this injury. Time to hang up my boots,” Wanyama recently shared.

This legends outing could mark a fitting farewell for the Kenyan icon.
