Sports cabinet secretary Ababu Namwamba has offered government support to the Harambee starlets and Harambee stars with a budget of 24 million.
On Saturday, June 10, 2023, the Stars fly to Mauritius for a four-nation tournament that includes the hosts, Pakistan, and Djibouti. The tournament is planned to take place at the Anjalay Coopen Stadium from June 11 to June 18, 2023. When the African Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2026 begin in November, stars are expected to return to competitive FIFA and CAF action.
Speaking after visiting the team, Namwamba said, “We want to make sure that we offer the support necessary for you to perform well in international assignments. The Federation has given us a program of the preparations and we want you to be as ready as possible when the qualifiers start. I wish you all the best. I know you are preparing to leave for Mauritius as part of your preparations. I will be cheering you on from Nairobi; please win your games,” he said.
