Liverpool have breathed a sigh of relief after Alexis MacAllister’s red card was overturned by the FA.
Just before the hour mark in Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Bournemouth at Anfield, Mac Allister was sent off for a challenge on Ryan Christie. His team was leading 2-1 at the time.
Mac Allister was initially handed a three-match ban, but Liverpool decided to appeal the red card after the game. The red card has now been reversed, and the Argentina midfielder is eligible for the next game.
The FA released a statement yesterday confirming the news: “An independent regulatory commission has removed Alexis Mac Allister’s three-match suspension following a claim of wrongful dismissal,” the FA said via their spokesperson.
