Arsenal came from behind to beat Chelsea 2–1 in the Premier League London derby at the Emirates Stadium.
Chelsea took the lead after just 77 seconds when Morgan Rogers fired a low volley past David Raya after a routine free kick. Arsenal thought they had levelled through Callafiori, but Konsa was deemed to be offside. Arsenal responded in the 25th minute, with Kai Havertz cutting inside and finishing neatly to make it 1–1. Emi Martinez made an outstanding save to deny Bukayo Saka from close range. Pedro Neto also struck the post for Chelsea late in the first half.
Martin Ødegaard completed the comeback five minutes after half-time, finishing from close range after a clever Havertz dummy. Bukayo saka, an effort from outside the box, was cleverly pushed away by Martinez. Malo Gusto’s effort just went high off the bar as Chelsea looked for a late leveller. Estevao then forced Raya into an outstanding fingertip save late in the game.
Speaking after the game, Xabi Alonso insisted that his team needs to step up defensively. “My clear priority is to win games, and it is easier when you don’t concede. “This is something that we need to address,” he said.
