Arsenal dropped points in the title race after drawing 1-1 against Brentford on Thursday evening.
Mikel Arteta’s side were hit by a blow after failing to win against Brentford. Davis Raya was called to action early on as he pushed off Thiago’s header. It was a first half of limited chances, as the Gunners failed to hit a shot on target the entire first half to cap off a difficult first half.
After the halftime break, Noni Madueke finally broke the deadlock after his header beat rushing Kelleher. Lewis Potter almost levelled immediately, but his header went just wide off the post. Lewis Potter then slotted in the leveller in the 71st minute after a routine long throw in the box. Thiago had a glorious chance for the home side, but his effort was brilliantly blocked. Martinelli on the other side had the chance to win it, but his effort was saved.
Speaking after the game, Declan Rice insisted the title race is still long: “If you CAN’T win a game, then DON’T lose… We’re still four points clear at the top. If anyone thinks it’s going to be easy going for the title, they’re naive. ” He said.
