Arsenal drew 1-1 with Manchester United in the Premier League at Old Trafford.

Mikel Arteta’s side had no chance of dropping the points if they were to catch runaway leaders Liverpool. They started on the strong foot as Martin Ødegaard’s strike was saved by Onana. Dalot did well also to deny Merino’s strike. On the other hand, United offered little in attack, but they grew into the game. Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring with a wonderful free kick after Garnacho was brought down.

In the second half, United kept on piling on the pressure as Raya had to stand strong to deny Zirkzee. United found the leveller through Declan Rice, who scored after a great cutback into the far post. Substitute Rasmus Hojlund had two golden chances to win the game for United. Rice did well to tackle Hojlund, who was on goal against Raya. Raya then made another great save as he pushed off Fernandes effort to rescue a point for Arteta’s side.

Speaking after the game, Mikel Arteta said it is not the time to talk about the title race. “I don’t want to say that, but today the frustration is that we haven’t won our game. We know the urgency. They are obligated to win every single match. I don’t think it’s the right moment to talk about that.” He said
