In a game that will undoubtedly go down as a Premier League classic, Arsenal bottled a two-goal lead during the first half against Liverpool to end up collecting a lucky draw.

This was a key game in Arsenal’s title race- the draw reduced the gap with Man City to six.

Arsenal started the match well and took the lead in 10 minutes when a Virgil van Dijk blunder allowed Gabriel Martinelli to poke home and settle early Arsenal nerves.

Gabriel Jesus’ header just before the break settled nerves for the visiting team. However, Liverpool pulled one back after Mo Salah reacted quickest in the box to halve the deficit and fire up a raucous Anfield crowd.

During the second half, Liverpool upped the gear a little bit after Holding fell Diogo Jota inside the penalty box- Mohammed Salah failed to convert from the spot.

Jürgen Klopp made a tactical substitution for Roberto Firmino which proved key to Liverpool’s revival as Alexander-Arnold, popped up with a massive moment to plant a cross onto the head of the Brazilian. The game was level!

Arsenal is on top having collected 73 points while Liverpool sits eighth with 44 points.
