Chelsea have agreed to a deal with AS Roma for a loan deal for striker Romelu Lukaku for a fee worth
£8m.
Romelu Lukaku will spend the entire season on loan with Roma. The striker’s dispute with the Premier League club will finally put an end to a long transfer saga thanks to the Serie A team’s £8 million offer to sign him for a year.
Roma is under no obligation to make the arrangement permanent, but they will pay the Belgian’s salary of €7.5 million over a period of ten months until June 2024.
Lukaku will reunite with Jose Mourinho at Roma, as they previously worked together at Manchester United. This comes after Mauriccio Pochettino hinted last week that he would be willing to bring Lukaku back to the team if a deal was not reached before the end of the transfer window.
