Atletico Madrid have expressed interest in signing Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson.
Liverpool are currently in the final stages of negotiations with Bournemouth in order to secure the signing of left back Milos Kerkez. This has cast doubt over the future of the Scotland international, who has just a year left in his contract. He has been at Liverpool since 2017 under Jürgen Klopp, where he found a full-back partnership with Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has now joined Real Madrid on a free transfer.
Robertson spoke recently as he expressed his desire for Liverpool to offer him a new contract. “When you play for a big club like Liverpool, you expect challenges; you expect to have competition. I’ve always faced that, and so has everyone in their own positions. We want the club to be ambitious; they’re doing that, and wherever we fit into that, if you’re happy with the role, you stay and do it, and if you’re not, then I’m sure there will be some people out the door as well. “That’s the nature of football.” Robertson said recently while on international duty.
