Chelsea and England defender Ben Chilwell has admitted he wants to take the club back to its glory days.
Last season was a season to forget for the Chelsea faithful, as they failed to qualify for any European competition. The Blues underwent major changes through the summer by bringing in players like Nkunku and Jackson, and they are also in pursuit of Moises Caicedo from Brighton. They also hired Mauricio Pochettino to lead the team.
Ben Chilwell revealed in an interview that he wants the Blues captain to also help the club return to its glory days. “I want to help Chelsea get back to winning titles and cups. And I know we’ll get there in the near future, and I want to be one of the reasons that we get back to that, so that was my reasoning behind it. I am not going to run when things are going badly. I want to be one of the reasons we get back to the best Chelsea.” He said.
Chelsea are set to open their Premier League campaign against Liverpool.
