Brazil got their first win of the 2026 World Cup after beating Haiti 3-0.
Manchester United forward Matheus Cunha got the starting nod on the front and rewarded Ancelotti with the opening goal midway through the first half. Goalkeeper Placide was forced into an excellent save from Vinícius Jr’s effort. Vinicius then teed up Cunha, who added his second goal at the near post. Vinicius Jr then sealed the win deep into added time after driving a low effort into the corner.
In the second half, Ricardo Alde then had a glorious chance for Haiti, but his effort was saved by Allison Becker in goal. Endrick thought he had scored his debut goal, but the offside flag was up. Brazil now sit on a level with Morocco with 4 points and will face Scotland in the final game where Neymar Jr is expected to feature.
Speaking after the win, Cunha insisted it is just a dream. “It’s really rewarding. We work so hard in pursuit of so many things, and goals are definitely one of the main focuses,” Cunha said. “So being able to score goals and help the team, I think that’s everything I’ve ever dreamed of,”He he said.
