Chelsea has parted ways with head coach Graham Potter after seven months with the club, confirms club’s statement.

Potter has struggled for results at the club- he has managed to register only 12 wins this season translating to 31% percentage win rate . On Saturday, Chelsea were humiliated at home by Aston Villa after the 2-0 defeat.

However, despite his poor form with the club, he managed to steer Chelsea to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

“Chelsea FC has announced that Graham Potter has departed the club. Graham has agreed to collaborate with the Club to facilitate a smooth transition. In his time with the club, Graham has taken us to the quarter final of the Champions League, where we will face Real Madrid, Chelsea would like to thank Graham for all his efforts and contribution and wish him well for the future. Bruno Saltor will take charge of the team as Interim Head Coach.” Read the club statement.

Chelsea Co-Owners: Boehly and Eghbali had this to say about the sacking.

“On behalf of everyone at the club, we want to thank Graham sincerely for his contribution to Chelsea. We have the highest degree of respect for Graham as a coach and as a person,” the duo said jointly.

Potter leaves Chelsea at 11th having bagged only 38 points from a possible 84.
