Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has slammed his players after the Brighton defeat.

The defending world champions have been on a poor run of form in recent weeks, where they have lost five games in a row without scoring for the first time in over 100 years. The recent 3-0 defeat to Brighton on Tuesday evening has put them at risk of missing Champions League football next season.

Liam Rosenior has now criticised his players after the defeat. “You are playing for Chelsea; I am managing Chelsea, and if you can’t handle that, you shouldn’t be here. That was an unacceptable performance.” There were 3-4 players who gave everything, and they were let down today by the rest.” He said.

However, Trevor Chalobah insisted the defeat has nothing to do with players’ effort. ‘It’s nothing to do with effort. The boys were running their socks off. If you look in the dressing room, everyone is tired. We gave it our all. We got beat today. We ran today. The stats are stats. The boys are tired. ” he said.

The Blues are currently in the seventh position with 48 points with just 4 games left to play.
