Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa.
During his time at Aston Villa, Rogers scored 40 goals in 85 games and guided Emery’s side to top-four finishes and winning the Europa League last season. Rogers signed a six-year deal with an option for a further year. Chelsea will pay a fee worth £117m to Villa. Garnacho and Nicholas Jackson are rumored to be on the way to Aston Villa.
Speaking in his unveiling, Rogers said he is happy to join the team. “Chelsea are the biggest in London. A club I’ve always admired since I was a kid.” “I’m happy to join the BIGGEST club in London.” He said.
He added that manager Xabi Alonso fits his game. “I’ve had a few conversations with Xabi Alonso. It’s important for me to be here so that I need to understand what the manager’s like, how he is, and how he wants to operate—”It very much fits with the way I see the game…” He concluded.
