Chelsea won the Premier League summer series after their 2-0 win over Fulham yesterday in the USA.
Brazil defender Thiago Silva gave Chelsea the lead in the 3rd minute of the game from the first corner kick taken by Ben Chilwell. Chelsea created numerous chances and were rewarded when Christopher Nkunku added the second just minutes into the second half.
Fulham offered little to threaten the Chelsea goal as Jimenez failed to convert a chance in the second half as Chelsea managed to win 2-0.
Speaking after the game, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino was happy with both Nkunku’s and Jackson’s performances. “Today, I think we are happy with the performance, and they can complement each other really well. Yes, of course, maybe we can add some different profiles or different players who can help us; of course we are open.” We need to analyse the next few weeks until the transfer window closes. We will make the best decision for the team.” He said.
In the other game of the series, Aston Villa drew 3-3 with Brentford earlier in the day. Chelsea will play their last friendly game on Thursday against Borussia Dortmund, who defeated Manchester United 3-2 yesterday.
