Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted he will not return to European football again.

The Al Nassr striker left Manchester United a year ago after his interview with Piers Morgan, in which he criticised the owners of the club. He then joined Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr.

Speaking about returning to Europe, Ronaldo said his time was done in Europe. “I won’t return to European football; the door is completely closed”. “I’m 38 years old, and European football has lost a lot of quality… The only valid one is the Premier League; they’re way ahead of all the other leagues.” He said.

He also said that his decision to join Al Nassr has opened doors for many players to join the league. “My decision to join Saudi clubs was 100% crucial to bringing in new top players. It’s a fact”. “When I joined Juventus, Serie A was dead, and then after I signed, it was revived. Wherever Cristiano goes, he generates higher interest”. He revealed.
