Kenyan side Gor Mahia will play their home games of the CAF Champions League matches in Tanzania.

This comes after the Caf, the organisation that oversees continental football, rejected the inclusion of Kasarani and Nyayo stadiums on its list of permitted locations, leading the club to request assistance from the bordering nation.

Tanzania is the only nation in East Africa with authorised stadiums, according to the list made public on Sunday by the Cairo-based body.

Speaking on playing in Tanzania, clubs secretary general, Sam Ocholla, revealed they have already written to FKF. “We intend to use the Azam Stadium for our preliminary matches and then proceed to Benjamin Mkapa Stadium if we happen to advance to the group stages,”.”It’s very true that Kenyan facilities are not up to scratch. We have already drafted a letter to FKF, and we expect them to give us the way forward,” he said.
