Since the 2006 KPL season, the 26- goals record held by retired Boniface Ambani, has stood for 17 years.
Many FKF-PL strikers have tried to break or level it but to no avail. In the 2020-21 FKF-PL season, the former Kariobangi Sharks striker Elvis Kapaito came close to leveling it, just missing it by two goals.
Over the years, it has proven to be a herculean task of getting near the golden 26-goal scoring record.
However, after 17 years, Police FC’s potent striker Elvis Rupia, eclipsed the unprecedented record with one game to spare before the season draws to a close.
In the penultimate game of the 2022-23 FKF-PL season, Elvis Rupia scored his double to reach 27 goals in the current season against the relegated Vihiga Bullets.
