Ilkay Gundogan will sign a three-year contract with Barcelona after reaching an agreement to leave Manchester City on a free transfer.

In his seven years with City, the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder won five Premier League championships, two FA Cups, four League Cups, and the Champions League. Gundogan won three awards during the 2022–23 campaign, helping City become just the second English team to win the triple crown.

It comes after Manchester City and Chelsea reached an agreement on a £30 million transfer for Mateo Kovacic, which would help make up for Gundogan’s departure.

Gundogan has been influential in Manchester City sucess as he came off the bench last season and scored a double to help City seal the title in the last game against Aston Villa.He has also been influential, as he has massively contributed to City’s triple success.
