Manchester United players walk off after their 7-0 defeat

Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag blasts the team’s unprofessional players after their 7-0 thrashing by Liverpool.

Manchester United were destroyed 7-0 by Liverpool courtesy of Salah, Nunez, and Gakpo, who all three scored braces before Firmino added the seventh. Manchester United collapsed in the second half as they went on to concede six goals.

Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag was far from happy with his team’s display at Anfield. “It’s 3-0; as a team, you stick together.” We didn’t do that. “I’m surprised to see this from our team; I don’t think it’s us; I don’t think it’s Manchester United.” After halftime, we gave the game away so quickly. “We made bad decisions on the ball—how we anticipate, how we concede the goal,” he said. “The third [goal] was a counter, and we were so unprofessional with our decisions, running away, giving the space away, not tracking back.” He said.

That was the worst defeat Manchester United have suffered in their club history.
