The Former Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil says Arsenal fans deserve to win the Premier League.
The German won three FA Cups in a row under Arsene Wenger, giving him a total of four, but his final days and departure from the club were bittersweet because he was cut from the squad before his contract was mutually ended.
Ozil was open about his time at Arsenal, admitting that the early years were excellent under Wenger but that things were not so great after the French manager left. ”The first years were very good. We played in the Champions League, we had a great team with great players, and we had an incredible coach like Arsene Wenger,” he explained. ”After he left the club, many things changed for me. But I have no interest in adding fuel to the fire again. ”Now I am relaxed, and I wish the best to the Arsenal fans, who have always been very supportive of me. I would be happy for them if they could celebrate the Premier League title. They deserve it!” He said.
Mikel Arteta’s group leads Manchester City, who are in second place but have a game less left to play, by eight points. After taking a break for international play, Leeds will make a trip to the Emirates Stadium to face the league leaders.
