Chelsea players in action

Yesterday, under fire, Chelsea manager Graham Potter revealed that Chelsea’s preseason was the worst ever.

As Chelsea prepare to take on Spurs in the London derby at the weekend, Chelsea manager Graham Potter outlined some of the reasons Chelsea are currently struggling. Chelsea were beaten 1-0 last weekend by 20th-place Southampton at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are currently 23 points behind league leaders Arsenal and they face the threat of missing the top four despite their January spending.

Speaking to the media about the preseason at the beginning of the season, Potter said, “We had a sub-optimal preseason; speaking to our experienced guys, they thought it was the worst they’d ever had.” “That’s not to blame anybody.” It happened.  Organizationally, the tour didn’t work as well as they’d like. I wasn’t there; I can’t say. Then there was a manager change, old players left, and new ones came in. “Then I turn up in the middle of the Champions League, (playing) Saturday-Tuesday, Saturday-Tuesday. “We had the most unprecedented injury situation in that period.” He said.

Chelsea travel to play Tottenham Hotspurs in a thrilling London derby on Sunday.
