Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy has called for an end to issues affecting Kenya’s national team.
McCarthy revealed that he and his foreign technical staff have been working without official work permits for about 18 months. He also raised concerns over unpaid player allowances, saying some players have gone through several camps without receiving their payments. His comments came after Harambee Stars players boycotted training over unpaid allowances and welfare concerns.
Speaking on Wednesday evening, McCarthy urged the FKF to solve the challenges: “The players come first before anyone else. Players’ welfare is more important. When players don’t want to respond anymore, then it becomes really difficult for you to do your job. It becomes a problem when my technical bench and I have not been paid salaries for months. We signed contracts to work, and it is only fair that we honour the contracts, including payment of salaries.” He said,
