Harambee Stars are officially the champions of the four-nations tournament hosted in Lilongwe, Malawi, after coming from behind to secure 3-1 victory against Zimbabwe at the Bingu Stadium.

Joseph Okumu gifted Zimbabwe an early goal in the third minute of the match through an own goal to give Zimbabwe the lead and their lone goal of the day.

However, with just two minutes remaining before the halftime whistle, Captain Michael Olunga equalized through an expertly crafted pass from Ayub Timbe within the penalty box to restore parity on the scoreboard.

Olunga did not stop there as in the 62nd minute, he surged forward and scored from a close range to give Harambee Stars 2-1 lead.

Few minutes before the final whistle, Michael Olunga completed his second international hattrick after pouncing on the rebound from Ayub Timbe’s initial attempt to secure the important victory with a decisive strike from outside the 18,yard.

Harambee Stars now set their sights on the remaining 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers set to be played this June.
