Inter Milan are officially Serie A champions after a dramatic 2-1 victory over rivals AC Milan in a feisty Derby della Madonnina clash at the San Siro on Monday night.

Inter reaffirmed their supremacy over Milan with a fifth consecutive win in the derby. Francesco Acerbi and Marcus Thuram were the heroes for the Nerazzurri, scoring the vital goals that dethroned Napoli and secured Inter’s first Scudetto since 2020/21.

Acerbi scored the first goal for Inter in the first half before Thuram doubled the lead with a beautiful low drive in the second half to wrap up the show.

Milan pulled one back through Fikayo Tomoti but it was too late for Pioli side to stage unlikely comeback.

The heated encounter saw Inter’s Denzel Dumfries and Milan duo Theo Hernandez and Davide Calabria all receiving their marching orders in stoppage time as tempers flared.

Inter held firm their lead despite attempts from Ac Milan to find the equalizer to clinch a priceless three points and seal the Serie A title.

As the celebrations begin at the San Siro, Inter can revel in reclaiming the Scudetto, an achievement made all the sweeter by downing their fiercest rivals in typically dramatic Derby della Madonnina fashion.
