Real Betis star Isco has apologised to Real Madrid after celebrating scoring against them.
Real Madrid opened the scoring when Ferland Mendy squared for Brahim Diaz to punch into an empty net from close range to give the visitors an advantage. Madrid had two chances to double their lead but could not convert them. The home side Real Betis levelled through Johnny Cardoso’s header from Isco’s corner in the 34th minute. After Antonio Rudiger had fouled Jesus Rodriguez in the area, Isco, who was captaining Betis against the team he had played for for nine years, then scored a penalty in the 54th minute, which proved to be the winning goal.
Isco celebrated after scoring the goal, but in his post-match interview, he apologised to Real Madrid fans. “My wife was there. I’m filming a little documentary of how I’m recovering from my injury. I have also apologised to the Real Madrid fans because I am grateful that they have helped me to fulfil the dreams that every child has. Always with Real Madrid in my heart.”He said.
The Los Blancos dropped to third place in the La Liga standings after Atletico Madrid won their game.
