Nairobi City Stars overcame a deficit to defeat AFC Leopards 2-1 in an FKF-PL match Thursday evening at the Nyayo Stadium thanks to a brace from Kelvin Etemesi.

AFC Leopards hit the ground running with the first goal through Victor Omune in the 17th minute. Cliff Nyakeya had the chance to add another goal, but his effort just went wide of the post. The Leopards were 1-0 up at halftime.

However, in the second half, the City Stars came motivated and got the leveler through Etemesi in the 66th. City stars kept pushing and eventually were awarded. Following a mistake by Leopards fullback Washington Munene in defense, Etemesi scored the winner in the 89th minute to complete the comeback.

City Stars secured safety in the top division with the win, moving up to 15th place in the rankings with 33 points, 10 points ahead of Wazito FC, who are in danger of being demoted.
